Ryan often finds himself at the center of where policy, politics and communications meet—devising policy-informed strategies and navigating client needs in an ever-changing political and media landscape. Using a mix-methods approach, he applies quantitative and qualitative techniques to build out research-driven insight that inform strategic communications and public affairs scopes of work. He supports the firm’s senior leadership in writing pitches and overseeing business development ventures.

An Upstate New York native, Ryan cut his teeth working on policy and communications projects in the Rust Belt: designing campaigns to combat misinformation at a refugee resettlement agency during the controversial Muslim Ban, developing the early stages of a new Mobility Counseling program to balance racial and economic equity issues in public housing, and supporting the deployment of a $3M tech-refresh project for the City of Pittsburgh throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously, he was a Public Affairs intern with SKDK’s Albany office during the historic 2019 legislative session and an Associate with a public relations and issue advocacy firm in the Keystone State.

Ryan graduated with honors from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Oswego and the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs with a master’s in Policy Research and Social Policy.
