Bridget Bartol is a skilled communications strategist and media relations practitioner with experience in government, public affairs campaigns and crisis communications.
She is currently a Vice President of Public Affairs at SKDKnickerbocker, specializing in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement and media relations for a wide range of corporate, nonprofit, advocacy and crisis clients.
Previously, she led media and messaging strategy for Securing America’s Future Energy, a transportation-energy policy organization. There she played an integral role in amplifying the organization’s expertise to push forward the first-ever federal legislation on self-driving vehicles, advocating for the continuation of the nation’s fuel economy regulations and educating the public on the importance of electric vehicle adoption.
Bridget also served as Deputy Press Secretary at the Department of Energy during the Obama Administration, acting as an agency spokesperson, guiding communications for the agency’s solar, wind, and fossil energy portfolios, as well as advising strategy and media engagement in high-profile crisis situations.
Prior to her appointment, she was a Senior Associate at Dewey Square Group in Boston providing media training, message development and rapid response for corporate and advocacy clients. She also worked at The Smith-Free Group, a bipartisan government relations firm in Washington D.C. assisting in lobbying efforts on energy, environment, financial services, and healthcare issues. A Florida native, Bridget graduated from the University of Florida.
