Samantha brings more than 15 years of experience in the communications, government and non-profit sectors to SKDKnickerbocker’s public affairs division and Women’s Leadership and Advocacy Practice.

A veteran of Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s press shop, Samantha was a spokesperson for the mayor and served as the deputy press secretary overseeing New York City’s health and human service agencies – a role that included crisis communications, media and government relations – and was the communications lead on major policies and initiatives. She also created and directed the New York City Girls Project, a first in the nation campaign to improve girls’ body image and self-esteem.

Samantha was also director of marketing and media relations at NARAL Pro-Choice New York and Planned Parenthood of New York City, where she handled communications strategy and media campaigns on women’s health and rights. She most recently served as acting executive director and director of communications for the Children’s Defense Fund – New York (CDF- NY), overseeing the strategic vision and communications and advocating for the protection and education of children.

Samantha holds a Master of Arts degree in Cinema Studies from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University.
