Marcela Salazar

Marcela Salazar has a wealth of experience in communications and public affairs, and an exceptional background in defining and driving media, community affairs and campaign strategies for high-profile government, nonprofit and broadcast organizations.

Prior to joining SKDKnickerbocker, she spent a decade in broadcast journalism in Washington at CNN, CNN en Español and Univision National. At CNN, she earned an Emmy nomination and contributed to the network’s 2011 and 2013 Peabody Awards.

Prior to her broadcast career, Marcela served as press adviser for the office of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi during the 109th and 110th Congresses, a communications specialist with the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) and was a senior consulting analyst with Accenture in both the United States and Spain.

She is a graduate of the Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and holds a Masters of Journalism from the Universitat de Barcelona, Spain, and is fluent in Spanish. Marcela resides in Arlington, Virginia, with her husband and three children.
