Josh Isay has spent 20 years as a communications and media consultant for some of the nation’s largest companies and most high-profile elected officials. The New York Observer says Josh “is widely considered the most effective media consultant in town.”
Josh managed Chuck Schumer’s 1998 upset of Al D’Amato and served as Schumer’s first chief of staff in the U.S. Senate. After leaving Sen. Schumer’s office, Josh worked as the head of public affairs for DoubleClick and then co-founded SKDKnickerbocker.
As managing partner of SKDK, Josh oversees many of the firm’s most important and high-profile clients. His corporate clients have ranged from New York’s leading real estate companies to world-renowned consumer brands to the most influential labor unions in the state and nation.
Josh’s political work includes being a member of President Barack Obama’s direct mail team, Mike Bloomberg’s media and mail team, and the lead media and mail consultant for dozens of governors, mayors, senators, members of Congress and other elected officials.
Josh lives in Manhattan with his wife, Cathie, and his two children, Benji and Ruby.
