Javier Lacayo has a diverse background in political communications and government affairs, and works with SKDK’s corporate, non-profit and political advocacy clients.
Javier has extensive experience working on behalf of New York elected officials, most recently serving as press secretary to New York City Public Advocate Letitia James. Before that, he served as a spokesman in the New York State Assembly and the New York City Council, where he helped shape the public dialogue on a variety of policy issues related to criminal justice reform, gender equality and education. Javier has also advised corporate and non-profit clients on government affairs efforts, and helped secure millions of dollars in government funding for healthcare, technology and social services initiatives in New York City.
Javier is a southern California native and fluent in Spanish. He graduated cum laude from New York University, with a Bachelor’s degree in Politics.
