James Hong is a member of SKDKnickerbocker’s digital practice, where he advises clients on strategically building and leveraging their digital presence to improve brand reputation, issue awareness and audience engagement.
Prior to joining SKDK, he spent five years in the financial services industry, most recently at the American Financial Services Association (AFSA). At AFSA, he directed the association’s communications initiatives, including crafting messages and a rapid response strategy for legislative, regulatory and industry developments. Under his direction, the association grew a robust online presence and established a clear visual brand identity.
James also has a proven track record as an agent for organizational change—improving internal processes, systems maintenance, workplace culture, and cross-departmental collaboration.
A Northern Virginia native, James attended James Madison University where he studied media arts & design while also working in the university’s Office of Public Affairs. He currently leads communications efforts for the D.C. Alumni Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi.
