Herbie Ziskend has worked for prominent business executives and political leaders over the last decade.
Most recently, Herbie was director of public policy for AOL co-founder Steve Case at the investment firm Revolution LLC. In addition to advocating for policy prescriptions that help businesses launch and scale, Herbie managed over 30 early-stage startup investments and prepared Case for national interviews and major speeches. Herbie also oversaw the editing and marketing of Case’s New York Times best-selling business book, The Third Wave.
Previously, Herbie worked at the Huffington Post – a division of AOL – as chief of staff to editor-in-chief Arianna Huffington. Serving as a top advisor to Arianna, Herbie managed a $20 million editorial budget with reporters around the world, and led key editorial and business initiatives.
During the first term of the Obama-Biden Administration, Herbie worked in the White House as a policy advisor to Vice President Biden, and prior as a press and staff assistant. He joined President Obama’s first national campaign in early 2007, traveling to more than 35 states as a member of the advance team and later as a traveling staff aide to Vice Presidential-Nominee Joe Biden.
Herbie has a B.A. from Cornell University and a Master in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School. He has also been a consultant to the Netflix series, House of Cards.
