In the middle of the fight over healthcare, and early anticipation for what is sure to be a heated midterm election cycle, SKDK senior strategists Jim Mulhall and Julie Norton offer lessons learned in their recent election victory for Virginia State Senator Jim Marsden. Writing in the Washington Post, Mulhall and Norton write that elections are still about five basic components, including listening to voters’ concerns, refusing to cede the center and using polling and strategy to target the voters who will carry you to victory. Democrats need not fear 2010, as long as they stick to a few simple campaign mantras.
