Stefan Friedman is a Managing Director of the firm’s strategic communications and public relations practice. After spending eight years at the New York Post as a political columnist, campaign correspondent and editorial writer, he came to SKDK in 2006. Since then, he has rapidly grown the firm’s public relations business, servicing dozens of clients in the healthcare, education and real estate sectors.

Public Relations Success

In his time with the firm, he has placed stories across the country in outlets including The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, Denver Post, Newark Star Ledger, New York Post, New York Daily News, Albany Times Union and countless others. He maintains relationships from his journalistic past with numerous reporters across all sectors and can tap into these relationships to quickly place stories, deliver off the record intelligence and keep a close eye on the news of the day.

At SKDKnickerbocker, Stefan puts his deep experience as a working journalist to work for corporate and non-profit clients including AT&T, The Genting Group, Democrats for Education Reform, The New York State Health Foundation, the law firm of Parker Waichman Alonso, The Rudin Family, St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children, Thor Equities and Monday Properties. He specializes in helping organizations manage complex public relations challenges, both short- and long-term.

Background in Journalism

At the Post, in addition to serving as a member of the Editorial Board, Stefan broke numerous high-profile stories and provided lead coverage of Sen. John Kerry’s 2004 presidential race before returning home to write a twice-weekly column on the 2005 citywide elections, including Mayor Bloomberg’s re-election campaign, that was picked up across the country.
