Kat Kane
Kat Kane is a Senior Associate and brings both media and political experience to SKDKnickerbocker’s Strategic Communications team. Prior to joining the firm she held positions in national and local news and is an active volunteer for various progressive causes.
Most recently Kat was a writer at New York 1, the city’s 24-hour cable news network. Prior to that, she worked at CNN producing video elements for “American Morning.” Kat began her career at MSNBC as an assistant to Dan Abrams during his tenure as General Manager of the network. She also served as a segment producer on the former 9PM show “Verdict with Dan Abrams.” Her writing has been featured on Mediaite.com, a news and opinion site that garners more than 1 million unique visitors per month.
In her spare time, Kat serves as Communications Director for The Manhattan Young Democrats, an all-volunteer organization whose mission is to “educate and activate” young New Yorkers about political and social issues. She will also serve on the Steering Committee for the New York Chapter of GEN44, the young professionals arm of the Democratic National Committee, through the 2012 election season.
Kat grew up in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and graduated magna cum laude from New York University with a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications and a minor in Sociology.
